At the beginning of June, we were fortunate to be able to help The Conservation Volunteers and the amazing work they are doing in collaboration with York City Council to revitalise areas of Hull Road Park in York.

Hull Road Park is 16 acres of green space following the course of the Osbaldwick Beck within Tang Hall. It hosts free tennis courts as well as a community cafe and allotment. TCV and an army of local volunteers have been transforming areas into vegetable plots and wild orchards for the benefit of the local residents.

They had a long standing wish to plant some grape vines to let people try them and vines that would cover an area of fence. We provided two different varieties for free, Muscat Alexandria and Rondo. Muscat Alexandria is a table grape and will taste wonderful picked straight from the vine and Rondo produces enormous leaves that show an incredible crimson in Autumn which will provide the park with some great colour come the later months.

We've planted the vines against the fence to their community allotment and installed two running wires along the length to provide some support for the vine as it continues to grow.

We wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing the progress through the years.
